Oracle Shifts Focus of Fusion Cloud Applications to AI Agents

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AI-enriched versions of the flagship database also saw major improvements as Oracle strengthened its claim to be the only full-stack AI provider.

At its aptly renamed AI World annual user conference this week in Las Vegas, Oracle continued its relentless build-out of AI capabilities for its enterprise software stack. This includes new AI agents for the front end of its Fusion Cloud Applications, a consolidated AI data platform, and upgrades to its flagship Oracle Database and cloud infrastructure.

While some announcements represented a continuation of existing efforts, a few truly new ones garnered the most attention from analysts.

AI Agent Marketplace and Oracle AI Studio

A new AI Agent Marketplace makes a variety of "validated" agents built by Oracle partners accessible inside Fusion applications. The marketplace is part of Oracle AI Studio for Fusion Applications, the platform designed for customers to build, test, and deploy AI agents.

Oracle also highlighted its ecosystem by stating that over 32,000 experts are certified in building these agents.

New Agentic AI for Fusion Applications

The new AI agents work across Oracle Fusion’s finance, HR, supply chain, and customer experience (CX) applications.

Rondy Ng, Oracle's Executive Vice President of Applications Development, emphasized a shift toward autonomous workflows. According to him, traditional static workflows and manual processes are being replaced with context-aware AI-driven operations that proactively inform users about critical business insights.

Finance AI Agents

Oracle introduced four new finance agents, available at no cost within Fusion ERP and Enterprise Performance Management applications:

  • Payables Agent: Automates invoice processing, extracts data from emails and PDFs, matches purchase orders, and routes approvals.
  • Ledger Agent: Detects discrepancies between general ledger data and underlying records, and performs automatic adjustments.
  • Planning Agent: Provides trend analysis, forecasting, and supports real-time what-if simulations.
  • Payments Agent: Optimizes cash flow, manages payment options, and monitors transactions for exceptions.

HCM AI Agents

In Human Capital Management, Oracle launched three agents focused on performance and career development:

  • One agent enhances one-on-one meetings with actionable insights.
  • Another answers performance-related queries and suggests career advancement steps.
  • A concierge agent assists employees with compensation, leave, and HR-related queries.

Bonnie Tinder, CEO of Raven Intelligence, noted the sophistication of these agents. She highlighted how employees can receive personalized career advice, including recommendations for certifications and growth paths, making the AI behave like a virtual career coach.

Supply Chain AI Agents

Oracle introduced three agents for supply chain operations, partially automating requisition, sales orders, and fulfillment processes.

For instance, the fulfillment agent can retrieve orders, optimize picking and packing, and prioritize urgent shipments.

Customer Experience (CX) AI Agents

The three CX agents are focused on sales and customer service:

  • One identifies customers most likely to make a purchase.
  • Another monitors customer sentiment to detect potential service escalations.
  • A deal advisor provides pricing insights, product recommendations, and guidance to close deals effectively.
